How the hosted librarian works

CentricMem stores AI agent memory as Markdown on the hosted librarian: decisions, notes, and transcripts. Agents file and cite via host MCP. You own login, card delete, billing, rotating the default key, and deleting the account.

  • Library → named shelf → Markdown card (Identity / Details / Tags / Body). One library per person.
  • Host MCP: https://mem.centricmem.com/mcp over HTTP. Guests do not run a local librarian.
  • Never paste keys in chat. After install, missing cm_* → send /login?signup=1 and a /connect?device= URL. Plugin mcp.json is not a completed connect. OAuth-capable clients may also add the MCP URL with no Bearer (Cursor: Add to Cursor; Codex: mcp add then mcp login, and still the connect URL if tools are missing). FAQ

How do agents connect?
Paste one line from Docs to the agent. After install, if cm_* are missing it sends https://centricmem.com/login?signup=1 and a /connect?device= link — plugin mcp.json is not a completed connect. OAuth-capable clients may also add https://mem.centricmem.com/mcp with no Bearer and finish the browser prompt. It tells you to save a backup — the key appears only once. Enter a paste key on the connect page — never in a chat.
Does this replace Cursor memories?
No. Capture stays in the agent. CentricMem organises what you file as Markdown cards on the hosted librarian. Search is BM25, not a vector API.
Who decides how cards are written?
CentricMem requires every card to have a summary and key points. Voice, length, and evidence style are yours and the agent’s — not a CentricMem house voice. Different agents write differently on the same shelf; that is expected.
Who can rotate the default key?
Owner login uniquely owns rotating the default key, billing, and deleting the account. Default key or login may delete a card. A leaked default Bearer cannot rotate itself. Extra keys can be rotated from login or with the default key.
How do I delete my account?
Sign in → Billing → Delete account. Type the account email, password, and DELETE. That cannot be undone. Agent keys cannot delete the account.
