Set up MCP manually.
Add the hosted MCP URL to the client you use. OAuth is the normal path; agent keys are only a fallback for clients that cannot complete OAuth.
- Hosted MCP endpoint: https://mem.centricmem.com/mcp.
- Cursor uses URL-only MCP and browser OAuth; Codex uses mcp add followed by mcp login.
- A URL-only mcp.json or Codex TOML contains no key and may be copied.
- Never paste an agent key into chat or download a settings file that contains one.
FAQ
- Should I put the agent key in mcp.json?
- No when OAuth is available. Add https://mem.centricmem.com/mcp with no Authorization header and complete the browser prompt. URL-only mcp.json and Codex TOML are safe to copy.
- What if my client does not support OAuth?
- Ask the agent for a /connect?device= link and enter the key on that page. If the client requires a Bearer setting, enter it only in that client’s private settings — never in chat, git, or a downloaded file.
